Senior Best
I just started filling out the senior best sheet and a few things keep coming up that seem to boggle my mind.
1) It has come to my attention that I don't know everyone off hand. I thought I would be more acquainted with my senior class, but that fact remains that I am (perhaps regrettably) not. I seem to recognize names and faces, and on occasion I will draw a blank, but for the most part I don't know enough about my fellows to categorize them into the sections given (e. g. best dressed, drama king and queen, most spirited, most likely to take over the world). And yet I am proud that I know the people that I do. They have obviously made an impact on me, so thank you all. In a world full of strangers I feel very fortunate to laugh, smile, and shed tears with my close, lovely friends.
2) As I stated above, it is hard for the majority to really know a lot of people, and yet there will be people who will get these senior bests. Someone's name will come out on more ballots than the rest for a category. So one person, even quietly, will affect the student body and be awarded a best (though it may not actual describe them in truth).
3) For some reason my mind keeps wandering to names of people who don't attend the school. Lauren M. and Gentleman-W have emblazoned my mind and I feel enclined to let their names fall on the senior best. Even people who aren't seniors might deserve the a best more than the current seniors. But alas, their time will soon come.
